The high school girls volleyball season ended last week for Lackawanna League teams when Western Wayne lost to Garden Spot, which is still alive in the PIAA Class 3A semifinals, and Blue Ridge lost to Lititz Christian, in the state playoffs.
Teams from the Lackawanna League won two of the four District 2 championships, while Delaware Valley, an LIAA school that plays in the Wyoming Valley Conference, won the Class 4A championship.
Next year, the Lackawanna League will grow by one school as North Pocono is making the move from the WVC to the Lackawanna League.
Congratulations to the teams from the Lackawanna League that captured District 2 championships.
