It was another big week for athletes and teams in the Lackawanna Track Conference.
Records continue to get beat as the season moves forward and the athletes who missed an entire season last spring are getting into track and field shape.
The top teams also continued to win.
In boys action, Montrose won a big showdown with Lackawanna Trail last week, while Mid Valley and Lakeland set up their big meet this week with wins.
On the girls side, a big meet between Scranton Prep and Abington Heights is rescheduled for May 11.
The big news this week came when Pittston Area officials offered to host the 65th Jordan Relays and the Lackawanna Interscholastic Athletic Association accepted saving one of the most prestigious postseason events in the sport this spring.

HS TRACK: Pittston Area steps in to host 65th Jordan Relays
The 65th Jordan Relays are back on as scheduled.
Pittston Area High School will host the event after no schools in the Lackawanna Track Conference would because of COVID-19 concerns, which forced the Lackawanna Interscholastic Athletic Association to cancel.
The LIAA, which sponsors the long-standing invitational, accepted the offer Thursday and the meet is set for May 6 at Charley Trippi Stadium. The start time of the event has not been set because the track at Pittston Area is a six-lane facility and the move there from Scranton Memorial Stadium’s eight-lane track could create more heats for the six races in both the girls and boys divisions.
No track athlete had a better individual week than Delaware Valley’s Brooke Acoveno. She set school records in the long jump (18-1.5), the triple jump (36-2.25) and the high jump (5-6) in a meet against Wallenpaupack.
Acoveno, who is headed to Lehigh University, broke the record of 16-5.5 set by Kristin Kejmas in 2006, beat her own marks of 35-7 in the triple jump and 5-4.25 in the high jump. She also joins her brother, Cole, who is the Delaware Valley record holder in the boys high jump at 6-6.
