The PIAA released the classifications for the next two-year cycle that begins with the 2020-2021 fall season.
There are five programs from the Lackawanna Football Conference that will change classifications, including two-time District 2 Class 1A champion Lackawanna Trail, which moves to Class 2A.
Programs are classified based on male enrollment numbers submitted for grades 9 through 11. The PIAA parameters for the next cycle for football were made official earlier this fall.
