Good morning.

Boy, it sure felt like spring yesterday. The warm sun rays hitting your face. I even got out for what I call a “brisk waddle.” Fitness is not my forte.

We also had a Virtual Track and Field Meet, Come on, you all saw it ON THE BLOG. It got shared quite a few times and looks like people read it. Got a great share from former State Champion Erin Davis, who is all the way out in Los Angeles and staying healthy we hope. She earned a win in the high jump in the Virtual meet.

See, this can be fun. Fans, stick with us here, we are doing the best we can to keep you all stimulated.

And as predicted: coach Frank Passetti did roll his eyes! He helped build Abington Heights into the powerhouse it is today. He and several of ON THE BLOG’S dearest friends often fought over the “all-star” concept meet. He had strong arguments and there were some really deep teams back in his day. We wish him and his family much health in these days, as well.

OK, let’s get back to it. The LTC Boys meet is upon us. … Let’s review.

HERE’S THE FORMAT:

There used to be an old Lackawanna Track Conference Championship Meet. At it, each team could enter only ONE athlete per event. It was the best of the best in each event. An all-star showdown.

So, what I did, was take the Top 8 performances from each event in the conference and scored it like the Robert Spagna Championship meet.

  • First place was awarded 10 points, second, 8, third, 6, fourth, 5, fifth, 4, sixth, 3, seventh, 2, and eighth, 1.

Then, I added the scores and came away with a Class 3A Champion and a Class 2A Champion. Not terribly difficult and we had a little bit of fun.
