There is a possibility that weather could impact — as it has already — the District 2 Tennis Team Championship tournaments.

But have no fear.

Mike Ognosky, District 2 volunteer and tennis guru — has a plan. He’s like Hannibal Smith from the A-Team (too old a reference possibly).

So here’s what we have from him:

CLASS 3A
The first round of the PIAA State Tennis Team Championships is Tuesday, October 22nd – our subregional champion will host the first round match.
We are fortunate in the fall that we actually have an extra week to play with in the scheduling of the team championships.  Should we have inclement weather on Tuesday that forces a postponement we will move the Semifinals & Finals to the following Tuesday – October 15th at Kirby Park.  In that way they will not interfer with the preparation of the Singles Championships to be conducted on Thursday and Friday of next week.

CLASS 2A
The first round of the PIAA State Tennis Team Championships is Tuesday, October 22nd – our champion will host the first round match.
We are fortunate in Girls’ Tennis that we actually have an extra week to play with in the scheduling of the team championships.  Should we have inclement weather on Monday simply reschedule your quarterfinal round matches to Tuesday and I will then move the Semifinals & Finals to the following Tuesday – October 15th at Kirby Park.  In that way they will not interfer with the preparation of the Singles Championships to be conducted on Thursday and Friday of next week –
Should we be able to get all of the quarterfinal matches in on Monday we will then conduct the semifinals and finals on Tuesday, October 8th at 11 a.m. as currently scheduled
