It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! While I’m still planning my Thanksgiving menu, I can’t help but be excited for the next five weeks. Here are a few activities to give you some holiday cheer.
Welcome Santa to town during the annual Santa parade in downtown Scranton. The event kicks off at 9:15 a.m. and features plenty of large balloons, dancers and of course, Santa. Stop by the Library Express at the Marketplace at Steamtown for some post-parade cheer and activities, starting at noon. Wilkes-Barre’s annual Christmas parade is also Saturday, beginning at 3 p.m.
Check out Frozen II at one of the region’s theaters. The Scranton Art Haus (the new name for the downtown theater) will feature special Frozen treats and character meet-and-greets starting Thursday night.
The Festival of LIghts at Stone Hedge Golf Course begins Friday and runs through Dec. 31. Drive through a magnificent light display and then warm up with hot chocolate and s’mores. While it costs $25-$30 per car, it’s money that I don’t hesitate to spend. We love this event every year.
