It’s hard to believe it’s November already. Before we know it, weekends will be filled with breakfasts with Santa, building snowmen and sipping hot chocolate. Here are my picks for the first weekend of November:
Home Depot offers children’s workshops on the first Saturday of each month. On Saturday, children can build and paint a bald eagle. My husband and I have taken our kids to the workshop many times. For more information or to register, click here.
Explore nature during a children’s scavenger hunt on Sunday morning at Promised Land State Park in Pike County. Click here for more information or to register.
Celebrate fall with sweet treats and entertainment at the Lackawanna Heritage Valley National and State Heritage Area’s Fall Family Fun Day. The event, from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Scranton Riverwalk section of the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail, features crafts, hayrides, live music and campfire stories. S’mores will be made with chocolate provided by Gertrude Hawk Chocolates, and hot chocolate also will be available. Free parking is at the Olive Street Trailhead in Scranton.
Expose your kids to art during the annual community day at the Everhart Museum. From 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, admission is free.
