TAMAQUA — The Tamaqua Historical Society’s annual Summerfest is slated to return this year from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Father’s Day, June 20, throughout the downtown area.

The event was canceled in 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Festival goers for the 2021 gala are asked to wear masks, practice social distancing and follow other safety guidelines.

Summerfest features a huge downtown street fair including food from vendors as well as local eateries, crafters and other vendors, entertainment, train rides, a car show, petting zoo and myriad activities for all.

The Tamaqua Historical Society Museum and Annex will have an open house and there will also be demonstrations and tours of the 1848 Hegarty’s Blacksmith Shop with a working blacksmith.
