The eatery opened in April in the former Brunetti’s Pizza and Deli in Scranton’s Green Ridge section. Although the eatery has only been open for a couple months, owners James and Carrie Mayer have plans to expand business hours and possibly have themed nights in the future. In the meantime, patrons can grab pre-made sandwiches and other items or larger meals, served after 3 p.m. Big-plate options on the menu include Lemon Chicken, Crab and Shrimp Scampi.
Chef’s Table recently chatted with Carrie Mayer about the growing business.
Q: What is the history of the restaurant?
A: We just recently opened. We look forward to making a lifetime of memories here in Scranton.

Q: What kind of food do you serve, and what is available for people with special diets?
A: We serve a variety of subs, pizza, salads and dinners. We’re willing to accommodate as many dietary needs as possible.
Q: What are your most-ordered menu items?
A: Our subs are our customer favorites. Specifically, our Italian Subs are very popular. I think having them pre-made in the grab-and-go cooler is a convenient option for those on the go. Also, the quality of products we use makes our subs stand out.
Q: How did your menu come to be?
A: We wanted to offer a blend of traditional favorites with some unique offerings. As an example, our Hawaiian Cheesesteak — which includes shaved steak, American cheese, cabbage jalapeño slaw and kimchi mayo — takes a familiar cheesesteak to another level.
Q: How would you describe the restaurant’s atmosphere?
A: Our restaurant is casual and family-friendly.
Q: What type of seating do you offer?
A: We have a 24-seat dining room.
Q: What kinds of promotions do you offer?
A: Follow our social media for menu additions and seasonal specials. We also post available specialty kinds of milk and ice cream that we carry from our local supplier, Milkhouse Creamery.
Q: Do you offer catering, event space, etc.?
A: We do offer catering for off-premise and pickups. Some of our catering offerings are sandwich platters, salads, fruit platters, assorted pizzas and casual dinners. Please contact us for individual requests for parties up to 50 people.
Q: Are you offering delivery, takeout or curbside pickup?
A: We are currently offering dine-in services and takeout.
Q: Where do you see the restaurant headed?
A: Having opened for business only two and a half months (ago), we are still just settling in. Plans for the future are extending hours, delivery and themed nights. We are also looking at an Oktoberfest event.
