Today is National Pierogi Day – a day set aside to celebrate the delicious filled dumpling from Eastern Europe.

Driving into our archives, I believe I found the earliest mention of the pierogi in the pages of the Scranton Times on Feb. 19, 1910. It is was recipe for delicious dumpling.
