With matches on Monday and Tuesday finishing out the bulk of the regular season in the Lackawanna League, Abington Heights claimed the 2019 championship with a 14-0 record.
First-year coach Michele Petrasko guided the Comets through a season where they navigated through a tough middle of the season, then finished strong despite losing No. 1 singles player Rory Harris to an injury.
2019 SEASON
Here is a quick recap of the Lackawanna League season. There is still one match remaining between Montrose and Riverside, but this will be the last time this data is published due to the rapid fire pace of the postseason in District 2.

SEASON RECORDS
TOP PLAYERS
Delaware Valley’s Tomas Reese finished a perfect regular season to claim the final No. 1 spot in the rankings. He will likely be the top seed for the District 2 Class 3A tournament. Western Wayne’s Lenny Maiocco, last season’s Times-Tribune Player of the Year, finished at No. 2. Reese defeated Maiocco in the regular season.
