Here are my picks for fun, family-friendly activities in NEPA:
Learn about dental hygiene and listen to a special story at Tooth Fairy Day at the Lackawanna County Children’s Library on Sunday at 2 p.m. This is a cute event each year.
The Ritz Players, in partnership with Theatre at the Grove, presents Roald Dahl’s “James and the Giant Peach.” I loved Roald Dahl’s books growing up, so this may be a great chance to expose my oldest daughter to his work. The show runs Friday to Sunday at the Ritz Theater in downtown Scranton. General admission is $10.
Elmo turns 30, so celebrate that adorable monster from Sesame Street on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Barnes & Noble in Wilkes-Barre. My 1-year-old loves anything with “Melmo.”
Home Depot has free workshops for kids on the first Saturday of each month. For February, kids can make a heart string art project. The workshop runs from 9 a.m. to noon, but I suggest getting there early before supplies run out.
