While this has been an unusual year for springtime fun, local ice cream shops are doing what they can to keep it business as usual. Thanks to added safety measures, you can still visit many of your favorite spots to fulfill your cravings for sundaes, soft-serve and much more.

 

Blue Ribbon Farm Dairy

• Where: 827 Exeter Ave., West Pittston
• Current hours: Daily, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Details: The dairy is offering its full menu of sundaes, milkshakes, blitzes and cones. Guests line up outside the building 6 feet apart, enter through the front door and exit through the side door. An employee stationed at the front door directs customers to a line to order. It does not have table service at this time but does have outdoor benches available.

That Shake Place

• Where: 1509 Mount Cobb Highway (Route 348), Jefferson Twp.
• Current hours: Mondays through Thursdays, noon to 9:30 p.m.; Fridays through Sundays, noon to 10 p.m.
• Details: The business is following strict protocols for COVID-19 and ensuring that its staff wears face masks and practices social distancing. It also has removed all outdoor seating to keep customers safe.

Picc’s Ice Cream

• Where: 938 Moosic Road, Old Forge
• Current hours: Mondays through Thursdays, noon to 9 p.m. Fridays through Sundays, noon to 10 p.m.
• Details: Offers full service drive-thru in which customers can order at a window without leaving their vehicles; takes delivery and pickup orders through DoorDash and Grubhub; all employees must wear masks while serving, and they wash their hands and use hand sanitizer between every order.

Coutt’s Ice Cream

• Current hours: Noon to 8 p.m.
• Details: The shop is only selling quarts of ice cream for pickup as well as cups and/or waffle cones.

Montdale Farm Dairy

• Where: 939 Montdale Road, Scott Twp.
• Current hours: Daily, noon to 9 p.m.
• Details: The dairy has opened its outdoor windows for the first time in 20 years so it can serve customers without face-to-face contact.

Main Avenue Ice Cream

• Where: 1706 N. Main Ave., Scranton
• Current hours: Daily, noon to 10 p.m.
• Details: Customers and employees must wear masks. The shop also has installed plastic at its ordering window for added protection for all.

Harding’s Dairy Bar & Golf

• Details: Customers must wear masks when ordering and can sit at the outdoor picnic tables. The driving range is open, but the mini golf course is closed.

• Details: Customers order at an outdoor window and are required to wear masks. The shop is following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention rules, sanitizing and wearing rubber gloves.
