“Based on growing interest in returning to some First Friday Scranton activities, we are excited to do a ‘soft opening’ for FF October,” it posted to its Facebook page. “We’ll post the link to our map on FB and IG once we receive all entries. Stay safe!”
Events include “Fortitude,” featuring works by Brandi Merolla, H.W.Yorkonis, Monica Noelle and Christina Galbiat at AFA Gallery, 101 Penn Ave. An opening reception takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. at the gallery, which also will be published virtually the following week. AFA Gallery will limit capacity during the event. This exhibit will be on display at the gallery through Saturday, Oct. 24.
Also, Scranton Fringe Festival will host Silent Disco Walking Party from 9 to 10:30 p.m. The mobile, socially distant, silent disco throughout the streets of the Electric City begins at AFA Gallery. Tickets are limited and cost $15. They can be purchased at eventbrite.com.
Both events will ask guests to practice social distancing and wear masks. Venues interested in participating can sign up at firstfridayscranton.com.
