‘The Heroes Among Us’
Arcadia Chorale presents the concert “The Heroes Among Us,” honoring first responders and their families, on Saturday, Oct. 23, and Sunday, Oct. 24.
Saturday’s show starts at 7:30 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 35 S. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre. The Sunday performance begins at 3 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 550 Madison Ave., Scranton.
Audience members are required to wear masks at the performances.
Tickets cost $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and are free for students and essential workers.

Jane Jacobs Walk
Join the Jane Jacobs Walk on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 1 p.m. at AFA Art Gallery, 101 Penn Ave., Scranton.
Wayne Evans will guide participants down Lackawanna Avenue to take in the sights and Scranton’s rich history and to examine the themes in author Glenna Lang’s book, “Jane Jacob’s First City.” The walk is free and open to the public; however, registration is required. Space is limited.
A Scranton native, Jacobs was an activist and urbanist who released the groundbreaking book “The Death and Life of Great American Cities” in 1961.

Hoot and Howl Halloween Party at the Y
A family-friendly Hoot and Howl Halloween Party at the Y takes place Saturday, Oct. 23, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Greater Scranton YMCA, 706 N. Blakely St., Dunmore.
The free event is open to the community and features a costume contest, DJ, magician, family-friendly haunted walk, refreshments and more.

Marywood University and Keystone College will host several concerts this weekend.
The String Celebration Concert takes place Saturday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m., and the Northeastern Youth Wind Ensemble follows on Sunday, Oct. 24, at 3 p.m. in Marywood University’s Sette LaVerghetta for the Performing Arts, 2300 Adams Ave., Scranton. Keystone College presents its fall concert Sunday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. in the Theatre in Brooks, 1 College Green, La Plume, and includes performances by the Keystone Symphonic Band, Chorale, Chamber Singers and Jazz Ensemble.
