Brewsterhout Annual Rooftop Party

Join in the 12th annual Brewsterhout Rooftop Party on Friday, Oct. 8 at Wilkes-Barre Intermodal Transportation Center, South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre.

The event for the Osterhout Free Library takes place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and features food from area restaurants, beer, axe throwing and more.

Participants must be 21 or older to attend and the event will be held rain or shine.

Johnson Family Benefit

Gather and support the Johnson family, who lost their dairy barn and cows in a fire this summer.

The Johnson Family Benefit for Amasa Hill Farm will take place on Saturday, Oct. 9, from noon to 7 p.m. at Fleetville Volunteer Fire Company, 58 Firehouse Lane.

Guests can buy food; enter basket raffles, a silent auction, cow flop bingo and cornhole tournament; and enjoy entertainment by Mace in Dickson, Old Friends, Greg Kondrat Trio, John Bower and Eric Aten.

‘Josh Gates Live!’

Hear from television presenter Josh Gates in person at Mohegan Sun Pocono, 1280 Highway 315, Wilkes-Barre.

“Josh Gates Live: An Evening of Ghosts, Monsters and Tales of Adventure” will take place Saturday, Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Keystone Grand Ballroom. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

‘It’s Not Easy Being’

Diva Theater will present an original play by Marcie Herman Riebe starting this week at the Olde Brick Theatre, 126 W. Market St., Scranton.

“It’s Not Easy Being” will take place Fridays, Oct. 8 and 15, and Saturdays, Oct. 9 and 16, at 8 p.m. and Sundays, Oct. 10 and 17, at 2 p.m.

Riebe’s play “is full of magic, the unexpected and the color green,” according to Diva.

Tickets cost $15 for general admission and $12 for students and seniors, but audience members who provide a completed COVID-19 vaccination card will receive a discount.

Elk Mountain Fall Festival

Celebrate fall during the Elk Mountain Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 9, and Sunday, Oct. 10, at Elk Mountain Ski Resort, 244 Elk Mountain Road, Union Dale.

Fuzzy Park Duo, Greg Kandrat Trio and Old Friends will provide live music throughout the weekend. There also will be food, drinks, hayrides and scenic chair lift rides. Rides cost $5, and tickets will be sold from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
