The seventh annual Authorfest is coming to the Cooperage Project, 1030 Main St., Honesdale, next month.
The Authors Alliance will host the event for authors, poets and readers Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 2 to 7 p.m.
Local author Barbara J. Taylor, who wrote the novels “All Waiting Is Long” and “Sing in the Morning, Cry at Night,” will talk about her own journey as a writer in the presentation “Writer’s Road Map: Discover the Joys of the Writing Adventure” at 2 p.m. Then, guests also can check out a special program for authors about maximizing their Amazon presence to sell more books in “Learn the Back Door Secrets for Putting Amazon to Work for You” at 3 p.m. And at 4:15 p.m., “The Road to Publishing Your Book” will include guest speakers Bob Levine, a literary attorney and agent, and Suzanne Levine, an editor and writer, who will talk about the state of the publishing industry and the role of editing in the publishing process.
After the presentations, guests can take part in a wine and cheese reception at 5:30 p.m. An open mic will follow at 6 where people can share short excerpts of their writing (up to 1,500 words). Those participating in the open mic are asked to bring an extra copy of their work for the emcee with with a short bio for their introduction.
