Can you believe school resumes for many students in less than two weeks? Let’s make the most of these remaining summer weekends by taking advantage of what NEPA has to offer.
Here are my picks for NEPA family fun this weekend:
- Ride a trolley with your favorite characters. Mickey and Minnie will join excursions Saturday at the Electric City Trolley Museum. The event includes arts and crafts, a magician and balloon art. Regular admission fees apply.
- Eat (and throw) some tomatoes. The Pittston Tomato Festival begins Thursday and runs through Sunday. Enjoy excellent food and entertainment, including a parade on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The annual tomato fight is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday.
- Watch the fireworks at Pioneer Nights in Carbondale. The annual festival starts on Wednesday and runs through Saturday. Fireworks are set to light up the sky Friday night at 9:30.
