The Mid Valley junior catcher doubled home the winning run in the bottom of the seventh in a 7-6 quarterfinal win over North Schuykill, and had her second straight two-hit game in the state playoffs. Here’s more from her Athlete of the Week interview:

Do you have any pregame superstitions or rituals? I listen to the same music. I listen to the same song every day and I always have the same protein bar.

Loyalsock is a pretty good team and you beat them, 12-0, in five innings. Were you surprised by that or confident to make it happen? We were definitely confident. We also had a scouting report on the whole team so we knew what was going on during the game and whatever happened in that situation.

What’s the difference between the 2019 team that won a district title, and this team. In 2019, I was a freshman, so I didn’t have as much experience as everybody else. But what was different was our chemistry with each other. We are so young now, and it is an honor to be with his young team, even though I have one year left with them.

Do you have a favorite athlete you admire? It was my aunt in high school (Danielle Terranella).

She played in a state basketball semifinal. Does she give you any advice? She would tell me all the time how she was in a situation for both sports (basketball, softball). She was just as nervous and she knew that she could hit it. She’s always at the games cheering for me knowing that I can hit as well.

Sports teams you follow? Philadelphia 76ers and New York Yankees.

Other sport you play: Basketball

Three people you would like to have dinner with. LeBron James, Derek Jeter and Joel Embiid.

Who’s been the biggest influence on your sports career? I think my mother. She’s always encouraged me to try my best no matter how hard the game is or how stressful, and especially in the game a few days ago. My mother was always there for me in my heart.

What’s one meal that you can’t live without in your house? My mom and I make homemade pizza.

One thing you would like to learn to do? I would learn to sing.

One teammate who always makes you laugh? Jasmine Lindemuth.
