Kayla Agentowicz and the Mount St. Mary’s women’s basketball team are headed to the NCAA tournament.
The Mountaineers punched their ticket with a 70-38 victory over Wagner in the Northeast Conference tournament final. It is the first time since 1995 the Mount made the NCAA Division I tournament and third time overall.
Agentowicz, a redshirt senior and Lakeland graduate, contributed two points, six rebounds, one assist and four steals in 25 minutes.
She started all 23 games this season and averages 6.3 points and 3.7 rebounds in 27.7 minutes per game. She ranks second on the team in assists (43) and steals (34).
No. 15 seed Mount St. Mary’s drew No. 2 seed Maryland in the first round. The game is scheduled Monday at 4 p.m.
