Rolling Thunder Inc. PA Chapter 3 will hold its 20th annual Ride for Veterans on Sunday, July 21. Registration runs from 9 to 11:30 a.m., and the ride ride starts at noon.
Participation is a $10 donation per person, with proceeds benefiting veterans and POW/MIA issues. All riders and vehicles are welcome.
The route begins and ends at the Gino J. Merli Veterans’ Center, 401 Penn Ave., Scranton. It will depart the center by turning right onto the North Scranton Expressway and then take the Keyser Avenue exit. From the exit ramp, riders will turn left onto Keyser Avenue, right onto the Morgan Highway, left onto Newton Ransom Boulevard, right onto Church Hill Road, left onto Falls Road, straight onto Route 92 at Falls Bridge, and right onto Route 307 (toward Lake Winola). Then, following Route 307, riders will bear right onto the Morgan Highway, turn left onto Keyser Avenue, right onto the North Scranton Expressway, left onto Mifflin Avenue, right onto Vine Street and then right onto Penn Avenue, returning to the veterans center.
The whole ride will encompass approximately 40 miles and take about 70 minutes.
