Party on the Patio

Back in Black, a tribute to AC/DC, will be the featured performer for this week’s Party on the Patio.

The concert will take place Thursday, July 28, at 7:30 at Mohegan Sun Pocono, 1280 Highway 315, Plains Twp. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Party on the Patio takes place on Thursday nights throughout the summer and features different bands and food trucks. Audience members must be 21 or older to attend.

The Ultimate Tomato Pub Run

The inaugural Ultimate Tomato Run Pub Run kicks off Thursday, July 28, at the Tomato Festival Lot in downtown Pittston.

Check-in for the approximately 1.6-mile run begins at 5 p.m., and the run starts at 5:30.

Participants can grab a drink at the Red Mill, LBC Distillery and the Knights before ending at the Tomato Bar, which will have live music.

Dogs Night Out

Groove Brewing will go to the dogs this weekend.

The Scranton brewery, 1344 N. Washington Ave., will hold Dogs Night Out on Friday, July 29, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Patrons can choose from six drafts, hot dogs, cornhole and enjoy live entertainment by Jeff Lewis. Guests who bring a dog will get a free hot dog. There also will be dog treats made from Groove’s spent grain.

Sweet Baby James

James Taylor tribute artist Sweet Baby James will perform Friday, July 29, at the Theater at North, 1539 N. Main Ave., Scranton.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show begins at 7.

Bill Griese, aka Sweet Baby James sounds similar to the six-time Grammy winner known for such songs as “Something in the Way She Moves,” “Carolina in My Mind,” “Fire and Rain” and, of course, “Sweet Baby James.”

Scranton Shakespeare Festival

Theater fans have one more chance to catch the Scranton Shakespeare Festival’s main-stage shows this weekend.

As part of its second reparatory weekend of the season, the festival will present the musical all”Sweet Charity” on Friday July 29, at 7:30 p.m. at the Marketplace at Steamtown, 300 Lackawanna Ave., Scranton; “We Will Rock You,” featuring the music of Queen, on Saturday, July 30, at 7:30 p.m., at Peoples Security Bank Theater at Lackawanna College, 501 Vine St., Scranton; and Shakespeare’s “Love’s Labour’s Lost,” on Sunday, July 31, at 3 p.m. at the Marketplace at Steamtown.
