The drive-thru of a long-awaited Burger King in Wilkes-Barre Twp. was set to open at 10:30 a.m. today after some hiring struggles.

Joe Steininger, director of operations for the local Burger King, said 19 full-time and part-time employees were hired to work in the Burger King at 1080 Wilkes-Barre Twp. Blvd. that was constructed where the former Country Ski & Sports Building was demolished.

The drive-thru will open at 10:30 a.m. both today and Wednesday and breakfast will not be served until Thursday starting at 6 a.m., Steininger said. Hours beginning Thursday will be 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
