POTTSVILLE — D.G. Yuengling & Son Brewery will welcome groups back for tours today but with some new rules.
Tours of the brewery at 420 Mahantongo St. will resume by appointment only from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Face masks will be required, according to an announcement on the brewery’s website. Groups will be limited in size and reservations can be made online at yuengling.com/visit-us.
The reservation home page said that brewery officials are “continuing to actively monitor and implement best practices in order to maintain a safe environment for employees and visitors.”
The tour route will be modified to include the historic caves, old racking room and Rathskellar, but will not include the brewhouse or bottle shop. Visitors sampling beer will be given a disposable sample cup and up to two samples.
In addition, the brewery’s gift shop is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Face masks are required and a 50% occupancy limit will be enforced, said brewery officials.
Brewery tours stopped and the gift shop closed in March in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Tours will resume the same day Schuylkill County moves to the green phase of Gov. Tom Wolf’s reopening phases.
