Schuylkill Benefiting THON’s stuff-a-truck event is set for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 19 at Hoy’s Used Cars, 186 Chestnut St., Cressona.

People are being asked to donate new stuffed animals and items that will be given to the Penn State Children’s Hospital, Hershey. The annual THON — the Penn State Panhellenic Dance Marathon — is the largest student-run philanthropic event in the world, raising money to fight childhood cancer.

Another Schuylkill Benefiting THON event will involve line dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. Nov. 23 at the Good Will Hose Company. All ages are welcome; the cost is $5 per person, and all proceeds will go Schuylkill Benefiting THON.
