SHENANDOAH — Due to the ongoing pandemic, Ateeco Inc., maker of Mrs. T’s Pierogies, has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Community Picnic, set for Sunday, Oct. 4.

“The health and safety of our guests, our vendors and our employees are always our top priority. While we were looking forward to a day of celebrating our neighbors, there was no way to safely host the picnic at this time. We are hoping to bring back the tradition next year,” Ateeco President Thomas Twardzik said.

This would have marked the 15th year for the picnic, which brings nearly 1,000 people to Mrs. T’s Pierogies’ property.

Ateeco is a supporter of many community groups and projects throughout the year, but every fall the homegrown company holds its own event for the community to enjoy at no cost. All that is needed is a free ticket available at a local business.

A free meal, snacks, bingo and music are provided, and the company mascot makes an appearance.

Twardzik thanked the community and vendors for their understanding.
