The Jewish Discovery Center, 216 Miller Road, Clarks Summit, will hold a grand opening for its new playground and green space.
The celebration will take place Sunday, June 30, at 4 p.m. at the center.
The new space includes a 25-foot Stringer’s Ridge climbing structure that includes such features as a tunnel, ladders, slides, swings with inter-generational double seats and more. A 60-foot safe zone and concrete benches surround the site, which also has a 9-foot dry-stack stone fireplace on a blue-stone patio.
Funding for the project came from a Lackawanna County Community Re-invest Program grant, contributions from local businesses and more than 100 private donations.
