Helping Hands Society, a nonprofit agency dedicated to providing educational and therapeutic services to children in Greater Hazleton and surrounding areas, will host its eighth annual Divots in the Dark golf tournament in memory of Dr. Paul I. Roda on Sept. 13 at Edgewood by Sand Springs.
Registration and a happy hour begin at 7 p.m. with the tournament starting at 8:30 p.m. There will be a cookout and hosted beer available for all attendees with DJ Rockin’ Ray providing entertainment.
Cost is $50 for golfers and $30 for non-golfers.
Helping Hands Society dedicated this event to Roda, a medical oncologist and hematologist who practiced in Hazleton for 32 years. An advocate for children and education, he died in 2013.
All proceeds benefit the children of Helping Hands.
