The Susquehanna County Historical Society & Free Library Association and Howard Burkett, a Penn State Extension Master Gardener in Susquehanna County, are conducting a joint production — a new podcast called “Digging for Answers.”

The Master Gardeners will be frequent guest speakers as well as other community groups and speakers. The purpose of this podcast is to answer general gardening questions submitted by members of the community and to educate listeners on research based best gardening or environmental practices.

It’s simple to take part, just email the Susquehanna County Master Gardeners with any questions or photos at susquehannamg@psu.edu or call and leave a message on the Master Gardener hotline at 570-666-9003.

Questions will be assigned to a team member of Master Gardeners who will research them, and some of the questions and answers will be featured on the podcast.

The first “Digging for Answers” podcast is now available. Listeners will also be left with a “punny” garden joke at the end of each podcast to share. Please note- not all hotline questions will be featured on the podcast. Selected hotline questions will be highlighted in the podcast, but all questions submitted will be responded to.

Interested community members are encouraged to visit https://anchor.fm/howard-burkett0 for a quick overview of how the podcast works and how to subscribe.
