Bethany Public Library has lined up TV chef and cookbook author Sara Moulton to give the keynote address at its annual fundraising dinner.
The event will take place Sunday, Nov. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Highlights Foundation’s Conference Center, “The Barn” in Boyds Mills.
Moulton’s wide-ranging career includes stints as executive chef of Gourmet magazine, food editor for “Good Morning America” and star of cooking shows on the Food Network.
“We’re honored that Sara will join us to share her experiences and some stories from the behind-the
scenes trenches of making food television,” Jane Bollinger, president of the Bethany Public Library board of trustees, said in a statement. “And in a nod to Sara’s mentor, the culinary focus of this year’s annual dinner will be an all-Julia-Child menu prepared by local celebrity chef Marcia Dunsmore of the Myrtle Avenue Bakehouse.”
This year, organizers have added a silent auction featuring prizes from local businesses in addition to its usual live auction, which will include items such as an art print, a private dinner at a historical house, and a tour and tasting at the Moka chocolate factory.
Tickets cost $65, advance only, and seating is limited. The event usually sells out. For details or to buy tickets, contact Kate Baxter at the library at 570-253-4349 or Jane Bollinger at 570-253-5711.
