Wilkes-Barre Preservation Society director Tony Brooks will host his 18th annual fall architectural walking tour of downtown Wilkes-Barre 11 a.m. Saturday.
Participants will meet in the park next to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church at 35 S. Franklin St. and explore the mansions and social history of three centuries in one square mile from simple Connecticut Yankee to the Victorian grandeur of the Gilded Age to streamline Modernism.
The cost is $10 per person and children will be admitted for free. Proceeds will benefit the restoration of the Zebulon Butler House. Participants are asked to wear comfortable shoes and a mask. The tour is approximately two hours.
Reservation are not necessary but are encouraged by calling 570-793-3631. Free parking is available next door to the church.
