‘The Nutcracker’
Ballet Theatre of Scranton presents its 46 annual performance of “The Nutcracker” from Friday, Nov. 26, through Sunday, Nov. 28 at the Theater at North, 1539 N. Main Ave., Scranton. CQShows take place at 2 and 7:30 p.m. each day.

The Menzingers
Punk band and Northeast Pennsylvania natives the Menzingers will perform Friday, Nov. 26, in the grand ballroom at Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple, 420 N. Washington Ave.
The all-ages show will begin at 8 p.m. and also features performances by the Dirty Nil and James Barrett.

Train rides with Santa
All aboard for the train rides with Santa on Saturday, Nov. 26, and Sunday, Nov. 27, departing from Riverside Park, 112b River St., Tunkhannock.
Trains leave each day at 10:30 a.m. and 1 and 3:30 p.m. Boarding begins 30 minutes prior to departure. CQ
Tickets cost $17 for adults and $9 for children 3 to 12 and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis during store hours at Greenwood’s Furniture, 61 E. Tioga St., Tunkhannock. Only cash and checks are accepted.

‘Swingin’ Jazz Nutcracker Suite’
The Scranton Jazz Festival Big Band will present the “Swingin’ Jazz Nutcracker Suite” on Saturday, Nov. 27, at 7 p.m. at the Ritz Theater, 222 Wyoming Ave., Scranton.
The band, under the direction of Marko Marcinko, will perform a jazzy take on Tchaikovsky’s beloved “Nutcracker” ballet crafted by jazz legends Duke Ellington, Shorty Rogers and Billy Strayhorn.
Attendees must wear masks.
Tickets cost $20, and guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate. Proceeds benefit the Scranton Jazz Festival and the Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Ninth annual Buy Local Holiday Marketplace
Support local businesses during the ninth annual Buy Local Holiday Marketplace happening Sunday, Nov. 28, at Scranton Cultural Center at The Masonic Temple, 420 N. Washington Ave.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features a variety of artisans and more businesses.
Admission costs $2, and the first 1,000 patrons receive a free reusable shopping bag.
