McCarthy Tire Service will host a Martin Luther King “Honor the Dream” food drive from Sunday, Jan. 19 through Saturday, Jan. 25.
Residents and customers are asked to donate canned goods and non-perishable food items. All donations should be in clean, sealed containers and within their expiration dates.
Food items can be dropped off at McCarthy Tire Service’s service centers and car washes in Wilkes-Barre and Kingston during business hours. Every person who donates to the food drive will receive a coupon for $1 off any car wash package.
Its service centers at 340 Kidder St., Wilkes-Barre, and 520 Pierce St., Kingston are open 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday; and closed Sunday. The car washes at both locations are open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday; the Kidder Street location is open 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday while the Pierce Street location is open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
All food collected during the event will be delivered to the CEO Weinberg Northeast Food Bank for distribution to local food pantries.
