The path starts, unimpressively, at a shopping plaza but quickly ascends along a rushing stream.
Hikers who continue the 7 miles will feel the cool breeze coming through a mine shaft, pass a pond behind a small dam and reach Wolf Creek Falls, a Jenga set of leaning lintels that has drawn tourists for generations.
State Park naturalist Robin Tracey will lead the ascent to the falls, and the Wolf Creek Reservoir above, on Nov. 5 at 10:30 a.m.
Meet her at the north end of the Wal-Mart parking lot on Route 61 in Saint Clair at 10:30 a.m. And bring lunch. To register, telephone 570-467-2506.
