Q: Tell us a little about Leadership Lackawanna’s Valley Community Library project.
A: The Valley Community Library project is one of five projects being sponsored by the Leadership Lackawanna Core Program class of 2020. Our group’s mission is to complete the first phase of Valley Community Library’s outdoor revitalization project. The fully accessible, eco-friendly garden maze will spark curiosity and educate children and their families. The project’s completion is scheduled for June.
Q: What will be on hand at the event?
A: The night will feature trivia, taco specials, beer samplings and specials, liquor and cocktail samplings, snow tubing, raffle baskets and 50/50 raffles. Guests must be 21 years or older to participate in beer/liquor samplings and specials. ID is required at the door.
Q: What was the inspiration for this event?
A: The event was inspired by the Leadership Lackawanna Core Program class of 2020’s group member Katy Kennington, director of food and beverage at Montage Mountain Resorts. Montage Mountain Resorts loves to support local businesses and charities. They host many events for all ages all year long, and they are looking forward to even more supportive, local people coming up to the mountain to experience all that they have to offer.
Q: Who will be performing?
A: Live entertainment will be provided by the Boastfuls.
Q: How will proceeds be used?
A: The proceeds will go directly toward purchasing materials to build the outdoor children’s garden maze at Valley Community Library in Peckville.
