It ended up cutting it close to the deadline, but the one sport which does not get impacted by the tricky fall weather, finished up the regular season in the nick of time.

Western Wayne already clinched the Lackawanna League championship and finished its regular schedule undefeated. The Lady ‘Cats are the No. 3 seed for the approaching District 2-4 Class 3A playoffs. We will have more on that later.

Holy Redeemer needed a playoff win over Berwick, 3-1, to claim yet another Wyoming Valley Conference championship. The Royals are the No. 1 seed in the District 2 Class 2A playoff bracket. They have won every title since becoming a school and program in the 2007-08 calendar year.

So with the conclusion of the league matches, it brings to a close The Times-Tribune Top 5 poll.
