Well, we had some technical issues and the initial ON THE BLOG post is a day late for the 2019 season.

In the blink of an eye, we are a week-and-a-half into the Lackawanna League season. Things are shaping up to be a two-team race for the title. Both Abington Heights and Scranton Prep have outstanding depth in their respective lineups. Take nothing away from the teams that will challenge, it’s just that those programs can go 4 or 5 deep with strong singles players.

The challenge matches for the singles ladder must be intense at both schools.

All of that being said, there is a great story developing at West Scranton.

First-year coach Devinne Scott, who was a record-setter at Keystone College, and got hired late in the summer, has guided the Lady Invaders to a fast 3-0 start. West Scranton has wins over Wallenpaupack, North Pocono and rival Scranton. Both Wallenpaupack and North Pocono were District 2 Class 3A team championship qualifiers last season.
