Each June, the sports department, Times-Shamrock Communications, NEPA’s ESPN Radio and now sponsor Coordinated Health tie the bow on the high school sports season with the Athlete of the Week ceremony.

This time honored tradition celebrated its 69th year, Scotty Walsh was the emcee for the event held on the fifth floor of The Scranton Times Building inside the radio studio auditorium.

All 43 athletes who were chosen as an Athlete of the Week and the 23 Times-Tribune Performers of the Year in their respective sports were celebrated. Longtime sports official and youth sports advocate Mike Cerra was presented the Joseph M. Butler award, and and Lakeland football player Garrett Korner-Usher, who was named Coordinated Health’s Comeback Player of the Year.
