It is that time of the year again, as the Scranton Lions Club and event co-chairman William Dempsey in cooperation with the coaches in the Lackawanna Football Conference, have announced the City and County rosters for the 85th Scranton Lions Club Dream Game that is scheduled for July 17 at John Henzes/Veterans Memorial Stadium with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
This season, the Dream Game is being presented by Coordinated Health Scranton Orthopedics.
Players are selected at a meeting of LFC coaches and must confirm their availability for the game. The City will be coached by Susquehanna’s Kyle Cook, while the County will be guided by Honesdale’s Mike Jurkowski.

Scranton QB leads high-powered City
BLAKELY — Robbie McAndrew shook his head in disbelief.
He knew coming into the 84th Scranton Lions Club Dream Game that being the only quarterback for the City all-stars meant a heavy workload.
He delivered.
Using his arm and his swift feet, the Scranton graduate put on an unforgettable show in his final high school football game. His 198 yards and three touchdowns through the air, and his 48 yards and two touchdowns rushing spearheaded the City in a 49-20 triumph over the County on a comfortably cool summer night Wednesday at John Henzes/Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The City avenged its loss from last year and leads the all-time series, 42-38-4.
“I never thought I could do that,” McAndrew said after realizing he accounted for five touchdowns. “You never know what could happen, though.”
With McAndrew leading an explosive offensive display, the City rolled up 362 total yards, which featured five plays of 30 or more yards, in front of an announced attendance of 7,546.
He scored on a run of 30 yards in the first quarter and touchdown strikes of 49, 36, 51 and 30 yards. His first two long-distance connections went for scores to Wallenpaupack graduate Ty Holbert, who finished with 133 yards receiving.
“It was just a great game,” McAndrew said. “It’s something that will last a lifetime. Playing with these guys who I never played with before was a lot of fun. Things were clicking early and we went from there.
“It’s just a lot of fun when a big part of the game is passing the ball. I was lucky to find some guys deep and that was because of the great protection up front.”
