Three players from Division I champion North Schuylkill and three players from Division II champion Schuylkill Haven garnered prestigious honors on the Schuylkill League Football All-League Team announced Monday.
For North Schuylkill, senior quarterback Jaden Leiby was named the Division I Co-Offensive Player of the Year, sharing the honor with Tamaqua senior Nate Boyle. Senior linebacker Tyler Elsdon was selected as the Division I Defensive Player of the Year, while senior defensive tackle Jake Green was the Division I Defensive Lineman of the Year.
Tamaqua senior Bronson Strouse was named the Division I Offensive Lineman of the Year, while Tamaqua’s Sam Bonner was chosen as Division I Coach of the Year.
In Division II, Schuylkill Haven senior tailback Kobe Brish was the named the Offensive Player of the Year, while teammates Steven Balulis and Bryce Miller were chosen as Defensive Player of the Year and Defensive Lineman of the Year, respectively.
Mahanoy Area senior Tony Merchlinsky was selected the Division II Offensive Lineman of the Year, while Mahanoy Area’s Dave Holman was the Division II Coach of the Year.
In addition to the major award-winners, an offensive and defensive team was selected for each division. Those teams were chosen based on voting by those division’s coaches.
