Looking for some family-friendly events this weekend? Here are my picks:
Start your weekend with a Friday “crafternoon” at the Nancy Kay Holmes Library on Green Ridge Street in Scranton. Make-and-take crafts are available for children every Friday afternoon.
See the stars during an open house at Penn State Wilkes-Barre Friedman Observatory starting at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Learn more about African Americans’ contributions to space during a special event at the Lackawanna County Children’s Library. Join Rashida Lovely, educator, and her son Dahon Lovely, as they share their knowledge and appreciation of these pioneers of science. Designed for children in preschool and above. Two sessions are available: Sunday at 2 p.m. and Friday at 4 p.m. Registration, which is free, is required.
