Yoga on the Roof

Start your Independence Day with an outdoor workout at the annual Yoga on the Roof.

Set for Monday, July 4, at 9 a.m., the hour-long class will take place atop the Electric City Parking Garage, Penn Avenue, Scranton. Yoga instructors Janelle and Hilary will lead the class with live music provided by members of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic. Participants can enjoy light breakfast fare by Donna Fitzgerald Vannan of Maximum Zen after the session.

The class costs $15, and walk-ins are welcome. Proceeds benefit the philharmonic.

To park, participants should enter the garage on Penn Avenue and drive up to the fourth level for easy roof access.

First Friday Walking Tour

The Lackawanna County Arts and Culture Department presents a First Friday Walking Tour of Scranton on July 1 at 6 p.m.

The tour lasts 90 minutes and departs from at Commonwealth Coffeehouse, 101 Lackawanna Ave. The tour will features various artists, stores and restaurants downtown.

Party on the Patio

Who’s Bad, a tribute to Michael Jackson, will entertain at the latest Party on the Patio at Mohegan Sun Pocono, 1280 Highway 315, Plains Twp.

The concert will take place Thursday, June 30. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the band will perform at 7:30.

Party on the Patio runs on Thursday nights throughout the summer, featuring different bands and food tucks. Guests must be 21 or older to attend.

U.S. Army Field Band & Soldiers’ Chorus

The U.S. Army Field Band & Soldiers’ Chorus presents “America the Beautiful” on Friday, July 1, at 7 p.m. at Scranton Cultural Center at The Masonic Temple, 420 N. Washington Ave.

The performance is free, but tickets are required. Patrons can order up to four tickets per household. Tickets are available at the box office, by calling 570-344-1111 and online at scrantonculturalcenter.org and may be subject to convenience fees.

Jenneca Simkonis Memorial Car Show

Car fans will want to hit the road on Saturday, July 2, for the Jenneca Simkonis Memorial Car Show.

The show will run from noon to 4 p.m. at Circle Drive-In, 1911 Scranton-Carbondale Highway, Dickson City.

There is no registration fee, and all cars are welcome; reserve a spot by emailing Andy at andrew.simkonis@gmail.com. Guests enter for free, too.
