Kiki’s Bakery and Cafe is named for Yesenia Rodriguez’s son.
She described her son as her “baking partner” as they baked from home, and that’s why the new establishment at the corner of Broad Street and Diamond Avenue in the former Road’s End Pub is named for her son.
Yesenia said it was Kiki’s dream for them to have their own bakery before he passed away at the age of 14 in 2012.
Yesenia said the new bakery will have a variety of options.
“We have all kinds of sweets,” Yesenia said. “We have little cakes, cupcakes, brownies, cheesecake, and breakfasts, like bacon egg and cheese croissants, omelets, pancakes and green smoothies. We also have burgers, fries, chicken fingers, cheese steaks and fruit smoothies.”
The kitchen and prep area are on the second floor, while customers are served on the first floor.
Kiki’s is open Thursday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday and Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and is closed Tuesdays.
