The Downvalley will be abuzz with activity over the new few weeks.

St. George Orthodox Church’s Annual Ethnic Food Festival will take place at the church grounds, 745 S. Keyser Ave., Taylor, on Saturday, Oct. 5, from noon to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 6, from noon to 6 p.m. The event will include holupki, pierogies, haluski, kielbasa, clam chowder, potato pancakes and more.

Also that weekend, Moosic Presbyterian Church will present its annual rummage sale Saturday, Oct. 5, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Moosic Presbyterian Church, 625 Main St., Moosic.

Then, on Sunday, Oct. 13, a designer purse bingo will take place at Eagle McClure Hose Co., Old Forge. Doors open at 11 a.m., and bingo starts at 1 p.m. Admission is $25. Refreshments will be available, as will a basket raffle and 50/50. The event is sponsored by the Women’s Guild and Prayer Shawl Ministry of Divine Mercy Parish. First United Methodist Church of Old Forge will sponsor a bus trip to “Joy To The World” Christmas show at the American Music Theater in Lancaster on Saturday, Nov. 2. The show is at 3 p.m. The trip costs $115 and includes, bus, show tickets, Shady Maple Famous Smorgasbord, taxes, gratuity and driver tip.
