Maybe having a birthday once in four years isn’t that bad.

Olive Garden wants to make it right for Leap Day babies who have missed birthdays during the past three years.

The restaurant has announced that it will reward those who have been wronged by giving them four free desserts on Feb. 29 as back pay for the birthdays that eluded them.

“Leaplings,” as Olive Garden has affectionately named them, can get four free Dolicinis, which are described as “little dessert treats, layered with cake, mousse, pastry creams and berries.”

For those of us who weren’t born on Leap Day, Olive Garden will offer a $2.29 take-home entree to all guests this Saturday, which includes a choice of fettuccine alfredo, five-cheese ziti al forno, and spaghetti with meat sauce.
