Olyphant native Judy McLane, the longtime star of Broadway’s “Mamma Mia,” will play Norma Desmond in the musical “Sunset Boulevard” at the John W. Engeman Theater starting this month.
Performances of the Andrew Lloyd Webber show at the Northport, New York, theater run from Thursday, Sept. 12, through Sunday, Oct. 27. Shows will take place Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 3 and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. with select Wednesday and Sunday nights available.

In Washington, D.C., meanwhile, famed Broadway director and Scranton native Walter Bobbie will return to the world of “Footloose” when the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents a semi-staged concert presentation of the musical. Based on the film of the same name, “Footloose” debuted on Broadway in 1998 under the direction of Bobbie.
Part of the Kennedy Center’s Broadway Center Stage series, this show will star J. Quinton Johnson as Ren McCormack, Isabelle McCallaas Ariel Moore, Michael Park as Reverend Shaw and Rebecca Luker as Vi. It will run from Oct. 9 to 14 in the Eisenhower Theater.
