The eighth annual Hazleton Rotary Wine & Beer Festival will take place Saturday, Aug. 24, from noon to 6:30 p.m. at the Hazle Twp. Babe Ruth field, Hazle Twp. Boulevard.

There will be a variety of wine, beer, food and craft vendors and those attending are encouraged to visit each one.

Ostrich Hat will entertain from noon to 3 p.m. and Kartune from 3 to 6 p.m.

Tricky trays, 50-50s, beer pretzel necklaces, two spin-the-wheel games and face painting for the kids will also be provided.

In addition, corn hole boards and bean bags will be placed throughout, and those attending can improvise a game with friends while enjoying the afternoon’s activities.

A new twist this year is the opportunity to win a $250 first prize or second and third prizes of 10 bottles of wine from event wineries. To be eligible for a prize, stop and visit and get a wine card stamped by each winery present at the festival.

Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the gate the day of the festival and $5 for designated drivers and those 13 to 20 years old. Admission is free for children 12 and under. All children under 18 must be accompanied by and attended to by an adult. Those interested in drinking must be 21.

Those attending can enjoy local festival foods and take home a few new craft items.
