A local DJ is putting on a show from home to raise money for two area charities.
E.J. Dougher, aka EJ the DJ, along with Matt Burne Honda, will present the “A Night for the Needy” fundraiser on Friday, May 1, from 8 to 9 p.m. from his Scranton home. The public is encouraged to drive by the Dougher home at 1629 Dicken St. during the party and drop off donations in a box on-camera. Money raised will go to St. Francis of Assisi Soup Kitchen, 500 Penn Ave., Scranton, and United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania, 410 Olive St., Scranton.
Donors do not need to leave their cars. Those who cannot drive by also can send donations to Dougher via Venmo at @ej-dougher or by visiting gofundme.com/f/EJDancing4Dinner.
Dougher and his daughters have been hosting virtual dance parties over Facebook during quarantine to keep followers entertained while stuck at home, and the girls will join him for this event as well.
