“Disney on Ice” will return to Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza this summer, the Wilkes-Barre Twp. venue announced today.
“Disney on Ice presents Mickey’s Search Party” performances will take place Thursday, Aug. 19, at 7 p.m.; Friday, Aug. 20, at 3 and 7 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 21, at 11 a.m. and 3 and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The show follows Mickey and friends “as they follow Captain Hook’s treasure map for clues to find Tinker Bell after he attempts to capture her magic,” according to a press release. The journey takes the crew through several Disney settings, including the Marigold Bridge from “Coco” and “Arendelle from “Frozen.” Guests will see characters including Belle, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Moana, Aladdin and Ariel.
Tickets start at $20 and go on sale to Disney on Ice preferred customers on Tuesday, July 13, and guests still have time to sign up to join that group. Health precautions will be in place for the shows, following local, state and federal guidelines. Organizers recommend that guests 2 and older wear face coverings whenever they are not eating or drinking in their seats. Guests also can order souvenirs in advance or from their seats and then collect them at a contactless pickup station.
