Abington Community Library is showing its appreciation for local teachers by offering them a gift of a free bag of books.
The library said interested teachers should call the library at 570-587-3440 before Jan. 8 and let the staff know they will be picking up a free bag of books. The staff will share what genres are available and, after the teacher requests his or her favorite, staff will bring their gift outside.
Abington Community Library said it is sponsoring the effort as part of the PA Forward initiative promoting the value of libraries in the 21st century.
